Police are appealing for witnesses after a bullet smashed through a car window in Battersea on Friday.

The VW Passat was parked in Ingrave Street, on the Winstanley Estate, when the shooting happened about 10pm.

The bullet smashed through the front passenger window, but it is not believed anyone was in the vehicle at the time, and there were no reports of injuries.

Police were called by the car's owner who saw two young black men running from a bigger group of young black men on Ingrave Street.

The incident is being investigated by the specialist shooting team Operation Trident.
