Streatham supermodel Naomi Campbell says it was the murder of her friend Gianni Versace that caused her drink and drug addiction.
While being interviewed for BBC One show You Can't Fire Me I'm Famous, due to be broadcast next week, the 37-year-old model said the designer's death triggered her "self-destruct button".
The show sees celebrities famous for being sacked or resigning from jobs chat to former Mirror editor Piers Morgan.
Other guests include former Blue Peter presenter Richard Bacon who was sacked from the children's show after tabloid allegations of drug use and Louis Walsh who was initially not due to return as an X Factor judge for the latest series of the talent contest.
Fiery Campbell also said her community service stint after throwing a phone at her maid forced her to grow up.
