Fans of Boris Johnson should get their cameras at the ready as the London mayoral hopeful has offered a bike to one lucky snapper.

Bumbling Boris is challenging the public to catch him on camera while he undertakes a three-week tour of London in a bid to vow voters.

Contestants will be able to send him their pictures through his website backboris.com.

The Conservative MP for Henley officially launched his campaign to win his party's nomination as their candidate in the mayoral election today.

As part of his campaign Boris will be visiting all 32 London boroughs - with Croydon being one of the first tour stops on Wednesday - and making a series of announcements on his policy ideas.

Among his pledges the 43-year-old has said he will set up a plan for 24-hour Safer Neighbourhood policing, look to design a new bus for the capital and phase out the bendy bus and make the congestion charge fairer and more flexible.

He said: "If you want to know why I am campaigning to be Mayor of London, it is because I love this city and I want it to be greater still."

Mr Johnson added: "I reserve the right to make jokes but be in no doubt that I am deadly serious in this campaign.

Over the next few weeks and months there will be people across the city who will be discovering that I mean business as I unveil my cabinet for London."

Mr Johnson is due to visit will Tesco in Purley Cross at 1pm on Wednesday.
