Voters will take to the polls on Thursday, September 20, to elect a councillor for Nonsuch Ward, after the death of Cllr David Wood, who passed away on July 6 after an illness.
Epsom and Ewell Borough Council has just revealed the names of the four candidates standing in the by-election.
The four candidates are Liberal Democrat Julian Freeman, Labour candidate Rosalind Godson, Colin Keane of the Residents’ Association, and the Conservative Alastair Whitby.
Polling cards with polling station details have been sent to the households in the ward, with approximately 4,500 residents eligible to vote in the by-election.
The last date to register to vote is Tuesday, September 4, but postal vote applications will be accepted until 5pm on Wednesday, September 5.
The deadline for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday, September 12.
Nonsuch ward has three seats on the council, and all three were won by the Residents’ Association in the last elections.
