How Palace rated in the south London derby.
Julian Speroni - Oh dear. Not a good afternoon for the keeper - remains to be seen if he can bounce back from Saturday's error. Looked fairly comfortable before the error. 5.
Matt Lawrence - Solid and composed as ever. Consistent performer. 7.
Tony Craig - Another no nonsense display - takes no prisoners. Linked well with Hughes down the left. 7.
Mark Hudson - A massive presence all afternoon - unlucky to be on losing side. Man of the match. 7.
Leon Cort - Like Lawrence, a model of consistency - but was made to look stupid by Speroni error. Dominant. 7.
Jeff Hughes - A nervous competitive home debut but grew into the game and showed some decent touches before being subbed in the second half. 6.
Tom Soares - Looked dangerous at times - but he is not a winger. 6.
Carl Fletcher - Driving force in midfield and slowly feeling his way back after injury. 6.
Mark Kennedy - Started the game well but faded as Charlton began to take control. 6.
Clinton Morrison - Did not get a sniff all afternoon. Still waiting for his 100th Eagles goal. 6.
James Scowcroft - What he lacks in pace and skill he makes up for in work rate. Won his fair share of headers. 7.
Subs.
Paul Ifill (replaced Hughes, 57) - First game back after a hamstring injury. 6.
Besian Idrizaj (replaced Morrison, 72) - Looked lively and was denied a debut goal after good save from Weaver. 6.
Dave Martin (replaced Fletcher, 78) - Tenacious if nothing else. Jury is still out on whether he has enough quality for Championship football. 5.
