A group of Travellers have set up camp in Morden and residents are worried about their safety.
Pictures taken show a group of caravans being driven into an allotment near Burge and Gunson in Garth Road on Tuesday night.
The next morning, people were shocked to find that a car and a work van parked in the same street had their windows smashed.
"We were woken up this morning in Garth Close to two smashed car windows," one resident said.
"We can’t prove it’s them, but we do not have this sort of crime usually.
"We are a quiet cul-de-sac."
A Merton Council spokeswoman said the necessary steps are now being taken.
“As a council our priority is a clean and safe borough," she said.
"We are aware that travellers have occupied land on 141 Garth Road, Morden.
"We have spoken to the land owner who is taking necessary legal action.
"As there was disruption to the highway we have taken the necessary action to ensure that traffic flow is maintained.”
