A vacant car lot next to Norbury station could soon be turned into 12 "high quality" flats.

The recently submitted planning application will include the clearance of a disused lot which is in a "poor state of condition with no particular merit."

The site of the proposed building is adjacent the station in Norbury Avenue.

Developers hope the flats will improve the area.

"The proposal will positively impact those within the neighbourhood by creating a safer environment for the occupiers of the adjoining properties by redevelopment what is currently a run

down, vacant site," the application read.

"The perception of the proposed development will generate an improved civic environment, not only physically but in attitude to local residents.

"The proposals relationship to the wider Norbury area will be positive and viable."

Developers also said that six of the flats will be classed as affordable housing.
