The Croydon Mosque & Islamic Centre has unveiled its new £1.3million extension.
Mayor Bernadette Khan was among those who gathered at the mosque where a new wing "designed to meet the needs of the community and specifically the needs of ladies" was opened.
The dedicated space will allow for courses, teaching, services and social gathering also to be held.
This new extension, which was fully funded by the community, will allow the mosque to now operate at full capacity.
