A machete has been seized as three teenagers were arrested in connection to a spate of robberies.
Earlier today, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robberies that took place across Croydon, Merton and Lambeth.
During a search of the suspects’ homes, police recovered a number of mobile phones, bank cards and a moped that are believed to be property stolen during recent crimes.
In addition, officers recovered hammers, knives and a machete from the addresses.
Detective Inspector Steve Brownlee, of the Met’s Operation Venice, said: “The police are working hard to keep the public safe and make the streets hostile territory for criminals who steal scooters, mopeds and motorbikes and then use them to snatch valuables from members of the public.”
