Pictures have shown a Mini left in some bushes near a footpath hours after it was involved in a crash.
Police confirmed they were called to reports of the incident in Brighton Road, near to Cotswold Road, at around 1.15pm on June 6.
However, a spokeswoman said the force was unable to provide any further details, including the driver of the vehicle itself.
“All I saw was a car – the end of a car – in the bushes that run along the side of Brighton Road opposite the hospital,” Michael Lyons said, who drove past the Mini.
“I had just come out of Cotswold Road, I had to take my wife to Banstead, and I thought, ‘That’s strange’.
“It appears it could have come down Cotswold Road, straight across Brighton Road, and into the bushes.
“I don’t know whether it was yesterday, overnight, or what.”
