A crash between East Croydon and Purley is causing havoc on the trains this evening.
Earlier today a car crashed into a bridge and as a result, fewer trains than normal are able to run on all lines.
Southern and Thameslink are expecting delays of up to 20 minutes, while some trains may be cancelled all together.
Network Rail technicians are on site and are inspecting the bridge for any damage.
An update on Thameslink's website said: "Trains have to run at a reduced speed over the affected area whilst safety inspections are carried out.
"These trains can only run one at a time over the bridge, so services will be held at stations whilst waiting to travel through.
"This will cause further delays to services."
