People who have been affected by the Windrush scandal will have the chance to discuss their situation one-on-one with a Croydon MP.

On Thursday, May 17, Croydon Central MP Sarah Jones is hosting a drop-in advice surgery for Croydon people linked to the Windrush generation or other Commonwealth countries.

Also in attendance will be members of the Home Office’s specialist Windrush taskforce, immigration caseworkers put in place by the Government to resolve the crisis.

Ms Jones wants anyone who fears for their well-being to turn up.

“The treatment of the Windrush Generation is one of the biggest failures we have seen from this Government," she said.

"I’m determined to help any constituents affected by this scandal or who are worried about themselves or a family member.

"I’m pleased to confirm that experts from the Home Office will be joining me at this special advice surgery next week.

"I know that this surgery will give my constituents the honest and professional advice they deserve.”

The event will take place at Ms Jones’s constituency office at 43 Blackhorse Lane, Addiscombe, between 3pm and 6pm.
