For 25 years, Michael Donald has been the headteacher at Warlingham Park School.
But come September, he will be stepping down.
Now his replacement has been named as Sarah Buist.
Mrs Buist is currently the deputy head teacher at Oakwood School in Purley, a position she has held for the past three years.
“I am delighted to be joining Warlingham Park School and I am committed to ensuring the pupils receive the highest standard of education, allowing them to reach their full potential; academic, personal and social<" Mrs Buist said.
"I very much look forward to leading the school into the future and working with the staff, parents and trustees and of course, the pupils, in September.”
Chairman of governors at Warlingham Park School, Stuart Sexton, thanked the outgoing Mr Donald for leading the school from "strength to strength."
"His dedication and commitment to Warlingham Park School over the years will be sincerely missed," he said.
“We extend our thanks to Mr Donald on behalf of pupils, staff and teachers, both past and present, and wish him all the very best in his well-deserved retirement."
