If you fancy a curry but can't decide where to go, this might help you out.

Three Croydon restaurants have taken out top honours at the inaugural London Curry Awards.

Royal Tandoori, in Addington Road, took out the 'restaurant of the year: south west' award, much to the delight of Areeb Quadir, who helps run the restaurant with his father.

"It is a huge honour to accept this highly prestigious award," he said.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my team and loyal patrons for all their support.

"All our success and awards should deservedly go to them."

It was also a big night for Indian Paradise in Wickham Road and London Road's Karachi Cuisine, which took out 'dining experience of the year: south west' and 'editors choice restaurant of the year' respectively.

The awards are run by Oceanic Consulting, an ethnic consulting and promotions organisation.

The company's CEO, Irfan Younis, was delighted by the quality of restaurants on display.

“The inaugural London Curry Awards have been a massive success and we’re already looking for-ward to next year," he said.

"We’d also like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of this year’s winners and finalists.”
