A new restaurant could be coming to the Griffin Centre in Kingston, with an application to turn the former Hands Music Centre shop into an eatery being submitted to the council.
The applicant is named as Huong Thi Lan Nguyen, the director of 36 Streets Food Ltd, a company registered to Unit 6 in the Griffin Centre – the proposed restaurant site.
Her name is the same as the director of Urban Orient Ltd, which runs a Vietnamese restaurant in Crystal Palace.
The application refers to the existing cafes and restaurants around the site, and claims it is unsuitable to use as for retail, “as shown by the demise of the music shop”.
Public comments are being accepted on the application, and a decision is expected by May 23.
