Carshalton Athletic is set to officially unveil its new clubhouse this weekend after receiving more than £145,000 in grant funding.

The Robins, who play their fixtures at the War Memorial Sports Ground in Colston Avenue, will commemorate the event at 12 noon on next Saturday (April 7).

It comes as the project was helped by a £145,330 grant from the English football’s premier division, the Barclays Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).

Paul Dipre, chairman of Carshalton Athletic, said: “The new clubhouse building has been a great success for both our fans and the local community. It’s a purpose-built, sound-proof design and meets the highest DDA standards.

“That’s good for our fans, local residents and our customers.

"Our fans base has almost doubled this season, we have some 43 teams and over 600 players, so we really needed something a little bigger.

"Many thanks to the football foundation, the council and local residents in supporting this development.”

The venue is already open but will be officially unveiled on April 7, and it replaces the previous one which is said to have fallen into disrepair.

Carshalton Athletic are members of the Isthmian League’s Division One South, and currently sit in second place behind East Sussex-based club Lewes at the time of writing.
