A case of bad parking could have cost someone their life.
That was the message from London Fire Brigade's Croydon Borough Commander Kevin McKenzie after being called to a bin fire early yesterday morning (February 4).
The LFB were called at 4.04am on Sunday to reports of bins alight in Ellis Road, Coulsdon.
Once they arrived though, they had to deal with more than just a fire.
Croydon Borough Commander Kevin McKenzie said: “Crews had difficulty gaining access to tackle this small fire so we would like to remind people to please think before they park and leave enough space to allow emergency service vehicle access.
“Fortunately this was a very minor fire and no one was injured, but the incident could be life-threatening and if we can’t get through, we can’t get to you.”
Luckily, the fire was dealt with by 4.17am.
