A man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a lorry in Carshalton this morning.
Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the incident in Green Wrythe Lane, near to Culvers Avenue, at around 8am.
PC Kemp, of the road and transport police unit, told Sutton Guardian the collision was believed to be an accident.
He said: "The pedestrian was hit by a lorry. He had a bad head injury."
A Met Police spokeswoman said the pedestrian was later taken to a south London hospital. No arrests have been made.
Road closures are currently in place while emergency services deal with the incident.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said a man was treated for head injuries and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.
Police said enquiries are ongoing.
