Thornton Heath is getting a new Hindu temple.
A planning application was submitted in July last year to turn the warehouse in 128 Aurelia Road into the cultural centre.
Now, more than six months later, that proposal has been approved.
As part of the process, letters were sent out to neighbours to see how they felt about the idea.
And the overwhelming majority approved.
Of the 76 responses, 66 supported the temple, with just 10 objecting.
The building and site shall not be occupied by more than 75 people at a time.
It will open between the hours of 8am and 9pm Monday-Saturday and between 9am and 8pm on Sundays and bank holidays
It will also provide 18 full-time jobs and three part-time jobs.
