Richmond has it all- gorgeous green spaces, riverside bars and restaurants, and some of the best schools in the country.
However, buying property in the borough could see a sizable dent in your pocket.
In fact, you could buy a 19th Century mansion with an indoor swimming pool in Swindon for nearly one million less than the most expensive house in Richmond. But the commute would be terrible.
We thought we'd take a look at what your money can buy you – here are five of the most expensive houses with a Richmond postcode.
Park Road, Richmond
Price: £2,795,000
The most expensive property on the market in Richmond at the moment is a Dutch Gable style Victorian semi-detached home.
It has a “beautifully secluded” garden at the back and the house, according to the description, is “surrounded by a beautiful sea of green with both front and rear gardens being well stocked with mature trees and shrubs offering a high degree of seclusion and pleasant leafy views from most rooms”.
There are six bedrooms, three bath/showers rooms, two reception rooms, a utility room and a separate toilet in the property.
Sandy Lane, Petersham
Price: £1,950,000
The second most expensive property up for sale is a detached house in Sandy Lane, Petersham.
Described as a “stunning six bedroom, four bathroom detached house in one of the areas prime roads with a 90' south facing rear garden”, it also has a front forecourt accommodating multi-vehicle parking.
It’s also been “completely remodelled and extended” with new double glazing, new kitchen fittings and appliances, four new bathrooms, a ground floor cloakroom, new heating and hot water system with underfloor heating to all bathrooms and the entire ground floor, new flooring throughout mainly in wood with tiling to bathrooms and new fitted carpet to the stairs and top floor bedrooms.
Sandy Lane, Petersham
Price: £1,750,000
The third most expensive property is also located in Sandy Lane, Petersham.
It is a three-storey house with six bedrooms and has been “completely refurbished”.
Features include “beautiful hardwood flooring” throughout the ground floor, a double reception room, a modern kitchen/dining room and downstairs cloak room.
The bedrooms are in the floors above, along with a family bathroom and two separate shower rooms.
The property also has a garage with a private drive and “good sized” rear garden.
Petersham Road, Richmond
Price: £1,700,000
The fourth most expensive property is in Petersham Road, Richmond.
Described as a “handsome four bed family home with generous proportions”, it benefits from a large southerly garden and the kitchen and reception room have French doors leading on to it.
There’s also a large attic room and views of the golf course from the first floor.
The Vineyard, Richmond Hill
Price: £1,695,000
The fifth most expensive property on offer is in The Vineyard, Richmond Hill.
Described as a “handsome period property with plenty of scope to modernise”, it’s a three-storey, four bedroom house that has been completely gutted.
According to the description, it “requires modernisation throughout, yet retains much of its original character and period charm, with tall sash hung windows, corniced ceilings and fireplaces”.
The house comes with a walled garden and off-street parking.
