The infamous Aussie flu could be on its way to the UK according to healthcare experts.
An outbreak of the virus has already hit Ireland resulting in one death.
UFC star Conor McGregor reported on social media that him and his family suffered from it over the new year.
The symptoms are more severe than a normal flu and can cause pneumonia and other complications.
You should start recovering from flu in about seven days, but if it lasts longer than it could be a sign of the more serious Aussie flu or the H3N2 subtype.
Those most at risk are the over 65s, pregnant women, young kids and those with chronic conditions - like diabetes, lung and heart disease.
Symptoms include:
- Sore throat and cough
- Headache
- Fever
- Muscle ache
- Fatigue
- Runny nose and sneezing
Over 70 people in Ireland were hospitalised with flu over the new year period.
Public health expert Professor Robert Dingwall believes the UK could endure the worst winter flu in many years.
In Britain, 23 people have reportedly died from the flu outbreak recently with a third of them occurring over Christmas.
