Wimbledon Station has set up a shoebox appeal for the homeless in Merton
Supporting Faith in Action, Merton’s Homelessness project and in its second year, donations of toiletries, shampoo, socks, underwear, woolly hats or even food was asked to be filled into small shoe boxes and brought to the station on November 5.
Scott Milne, Flagship Station Manager at Wimbledon said: “This is the second year we’ve run this appeal in conjunction with the Merton Homelessness Project.
“We ask for shoeboxes full of toiletries, clothes and food and we’re also fortunate to receive donations. The scheme this year was led by Jim O’Brien and Tijender Gill at Wimbledon and the whole station team gave up their time to help out.”
