An 11-year-old singer from Merton has been chosen as one of the youngest performers on ‘Michael Mcintyre’s Big Show,’ on BBC1.

Anush Hydros, who is in Year Seven at Homefield Preparatory School, in Sutton, will feature as as the ‘Unexpected Star of the Show’ which involves performing in front of a studio audience of 2,500 people.

Dad Suhas Hydros said: “We are extremely proud as his parents but also equally grateful to Michael McIntyre and his team for introducing Anush to the world.

“There is no doubt in our minds that Anush has worked incredibly hard for this day but he couldn’t have got a better team or a better platform than this to showcase his musical talent.

"It’s his dream that one day he would be able to sing with Ed Sheeran, Adele and Sam Smith.”

Anush has been signing since a very young age and gave his first solo performance aged six at Wimbledon College and has won numerous awards.

The awards include finishing in the top three at the Merton’s Got Talent competition in 2013 (when he was seven) and being a regional finalist in the 2015 Open Mic UK contest (aged 9).

The episode with Anush on the ‘Michael Mcintyre’s Big Show’ is to be shown on BBC 1 (November 25) at 8:10pm.

The episode will feature Gary Barlow, Clean Bandit and EastEnders star Danny Dyer as well as comedy from leading comedian Michael McIntyre himself.

The Michael Mcintyre Big Show is a Saturday night family entertainment show featuring audience favourites ‘Celebrity Send to All’ and ‘Unexpected Star of the Show’ with the first episode of the new series being shown last Saturday.
