A woman has died after being hit by a train at St Helier station.
British Transport Police was called 12.23, and a spokesman said: “A person was struck by a train. Unfortunately a person has sadly been pronounced dead.”
An air ambulance was in attendance, and London Ambulance Service they called.
The London Ambulanece Service said they were called at just before 12.20pm to reports of someone being hit by a train.
A spokesman for LAS said: "We sent our Hazardous Area Response Team, an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene. London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.
“Sadly, the patient was dead at the scene.”
Trains were suspended between Sutton and Wimbledon, but are now running again, although they will not stop at St Helier.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Underground, Tramlink and Southern services.
