Football star Ian Wright has out his Croydon home up for sale for £6million.

The eight-bedroom home in Bishop's Walk, Shirley, has a leather floored lounge with a sunken sofa, 12 seat cinema and arcade games room with graffitied walls.

There is also a mini golf course, swimming pool complex and the house which is being sold by Park and Bailey is set in 1.3 acres.

Ian wright told the agent: "When we first saw it the house was almost half the size it is now but we loved its position on a very private road, with a lot of mature hedges providing plenty of seclusion.

"We also loved its appearance from the outside - and realised just what it could become with a bit of work."

The ex-Crystal Palace, Arsenal and England player has lived in the house since 1994 and has brought up his five children in the house who have loved every minute of it, especially the cinema.

The footballer, who played for Crystal Palace for six years, said: "When you're in there, it's exactly like being in an old cinema. Each seat has a square footrest and a holder for your drink and popcorn. The children bring their friends in to watch sport and movies - and as you can imagine, they absolutely love it."

He added: "This has been the perfect home for family and entertaining. It's full of ideas from America which we saw being used over there five years ago, but in some cases are only just coming into fashion over here now.

"It could just as easily accommodate a young family as well as an older one - there's plenty of space and we've filled it with the latest electronic gadgetry to enable us to live our ideal lifestyle."
