Millwall's mini-revival came to an end as Barnsley ran out 3-1 victors at The Den.

The visitors struck first five minutes before the break when Tom Bradshaw slotted home from Harvey Barnes' delivery.

Parity was restored in stoppage time as Lee Gregory burst through on goal, only to be fouled by Matty Pearson and then stepping up to convert the resulting penalty.

The Tykes were back in front on the hour with Barnes again providing the assist for Bradshaw to grab his second, fully capitalising on some slack Millwall defending.

Substitute Shane Ferguson fouled Jared Bird in the box seven minutes from time and Mamadou Thiam made no mistake from the spot to complete Millwall's miserable afternoon.

Here's how News Shopper rated Millwall's players...

Jordan Archer - 5 - Had a scare when making a complete hash of a cross not long before Barnsley's opener. Made some fairly decent saves.

Conor McLaughlin - 5 - Was unable to prevent the cross coming in which saw Barnsley break the deadlock. Had his keeper to thank for making a save to prevent Brad Potts making it 3-1 after coming off second best to the Barnsley man.

Shaun Hutchinson - 5 - Like the rest of the back four he had a few nervous moments in the opening period. Was nowhere near the ball when Bradshaw mad it 2-1.

Byron Webster - 6 - Came back on after requiring treatment midway through the first half. Made a vital headed clearance to prevent Barnsley going back ahead early in the second period.

James Meredith - 4 - Struggled at times as he and Millwall's defence endured an afternoon largely to forget. Made way for Onyedinma late on.

Jed Wallace - 5 - Had a crack at goal from outside of the box which was deflected behind and produced a stop from Davies after the interval.

George Saville - 5 - A case of after the Lord Mayor's show as Tuesday's two-goal hero was unable to repeat his midweek heroics.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - 5 - A first league start for the summer addition from Fulham but didn't make much of an impact in the middle.

Aiden O'Brien - 7 - Did well to beat two defenders and whip in a dangerous 25th minute cross which won a corner. Some nice touches and looked lively but was replaced by Ferguson on 64 minutes.

Steve Morison - 6 - Had a quiet opening 45 minutes although he was hardly the only one. Improved after the break and was unlucky to place a close range header straight at Davies.

Lee Gregory - 7 - Saw an early chance saved by Adam Davies but won and scored the penalty which drew the Lions back on terms before the break.
