Video has emerged appearing to show two women being robbed at knifepoint in Thornton Heath.
The two women in their 60s were approached by four men riding on mopeds in Bensham Manor Road, at around 3pm on Wednesday, September 20.
During the incident the passengers got off the bikes and reportedly threatened the victims with a knife, before appearing to snatch a four gold chains from the victims' necks.
The video seems to show at least one of the women attempting to fend off the attackers.
A male witness, aged in his seventies, attempted to intervene and was thrown to the ground by one of the suspects.
The suspects then made off on the mopeds towards White Horse Road.
The witness who intervened was taken to south London hospital with a minor head injury where he was later discharged.
There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
The suspects are described as three white men and one black man. All four wore motorcycle helmets.
Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call Croydon CID on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC.
