Merton's Colour House Theatre will now be able to offer more shows, with a new Wimbledon partnership.

Managed by children's TV presenter Charlie Shakespeare, the charitable theatre company has partnered with Merton Council's new Arts Space at Wimbledon Library.

The 250-seat venue means the theatre will be able to produce different shows every Sunday afternoon.

Hansel and Gretel will be the first production in the new arts space, and will run from September 9 to November 12. Tickets are now available from £10.

Mr Shakespeare said: "We're delighted to be given this opportunity to expand and run our shows at this wonderful space as well.

"We are all very excited to be able to bring our expertise and experience to this venue and hope that our highly acclaimed original musical adaptations will work just as well here as they have done, and continue to do so at The Colour House Theatre.

"With such a vast catalogue of shows, we will always have different productions running between ensuring great entertainment and fun whether your in Wimbledon or Colliers Wood."

The theatre is based at a Grade II listed building in Merton Abbey Mills. Rapunzel will be the next production in the main theatre and will run from September 2 to November 5.

Over 100 productions have now been staged to more than 100,000 people by The Colour House over the last twenty years. The company produces children's shows every weekend.

The theatre also offers opportunities to graduate actors and directors, aspiring writers and trainee technicians. Over 20 work experience students pass through its doors each year.
