Croydon runner Martyn Rooney has helped guide his country to glory at the IAAF World Championships.
Running the anchor leg in the men's 4x400m relay final on Sunday, Rooney started his run with a bit of work to do.
Handed the baton in third place and a fair distance back, it was always going to be tough to come back.
As the crowd cheered him on, he continued to close the gap between himself and the runners from the USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
Rooney ran out of track however and he - along with teammates Dwayne Cowan, Matthew Hudson Smith and Rabah Yousif - would have to settle for a bronze medal.
