The first images have been released of badly beaten Rekher Ahmed, in his hospital bed.
The 17 year old boy struggles to keep his eyes open as he stares helplessly into the camera.
Images were released after Reker was visited by Kurdish politician Faysal Sariyildiz and community figure Zinar Demeni.
This comes nearly week on from the attack, which left the teenage asylum seeker with a fractured spine and bleed on the brain.
He is said to be in a ‘serious but stable’ condition.
Almost 30 people chased him on Shrublands Avenue, Shirley as he waited at a bus-stop, with two friends on Friday (March 31).
So far, a total of 16 people have been charged in connection to the ‘unprovoked attack’.
