A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the face and back in the fourth knife attack on a teenager in the borough this week.

Police were called to the incident in Albert Road, South Norwood, at about 3.20pm on Saturday, March 4.

When officers arrived, the victim was not there.

The teenager arrived a south London hospital suffering stab wounds to his face and back a short while later.

His injuries are not thought by police to be life-threatening, but he remains in hospital.

He was approached by a group of men who stabbed him before leaving in a vehicle, officers believe at this early stage in the investigation.

No arrests have been made.

A Met police spokeswoman said: “Enquires are ongoing to locate the vehicle and those responsible for the stabbing.

“Detectives from Croydon CID have been informed. No arrests have been made and enquires continue.”

This is the fourth time this week a teenage boy has been stabbed in the borough just this week.

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 17-year-old boy was found in a car park stairwell with multiple stab wounds on Tuesday, February 28.

An 17-year-old has been released on bail until a date in mid-April, and an 18-year-old remains in custody following the incident in Wandle car park.

Police are also appealing for information after the victim of stabbing in Thornton Heath took themselves to hospital officers were called to Virginia Road shortly before 12.30pm on Monday.

And a boy, believed to be in his mid teens, was stabbed following a fight in South Norwood High Street just after 6pm on Wednesday, March 1.

No arrests have been made in relation to these two incidents.
