A 17-year-old boy who was found in the stairwell of a Croydon car park suffering multiple stab wounds last night is now in life-threatening condtion.

Police were called to the Wandle Car Park, Wandle Road, by London Ambulance Service (LAS) shortly before 10.30pm.

Officers this afternoon confirmed he is in life-threatening condition in hospital.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and found a 17-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds in a stairwell.

"Detectives from Croydon CID would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has any information that may assist the investigation.

"No arrests and enquires continue.

"Anyone who witnessed the stabbing is asked to contact Croydon CID on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
