A Carshalton nursery has closed after discovering an undercover reporter had used secret cameras to film inside the building.
Parents are understood to have received letters from Busy Bees Pre-school at Carshalton Athletic informing them of the closure on Sunday.
Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, said: “I have been informed that his nursery has closed following the use of hidden camera by a covert news reporter on site. The reporter was from Good Morning Britain apparently.”
The privately run nursery, based within the grounds of the football club in Colston Avenue, declined to comment when contacted by the Sutton Guardian this afternoon and instead referred the call to Sutton Council’s press office.
Parents who contacted the nursery asking for more information over the weekend were told by management to send an email.
ITV, which produces and broadcasts Good Morning Britain, has been contacted for a comment.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the force had been notified of the situation but no offences were thought to have been committed.
The nursery involved is not connected to another nursery called Busy Bees in Kenny Drive, Carshalton Beeches.
