Most people's first car tends to be a second-hand clapped out Corsa or Nissan Micra that is only a few hundred miles from being scrapped.
But one learner-driver must be lamenting the loss of their first car after the gold-plated Maserati with L-plates was seized by Kingston police.
The £100,000 Maserati GranCabrio was confiscated by officers in Kings Road this morning after they discovered the young driver had no insurance.
The soft-top supercar, which can go from 0 to 60mph in just five seconds, is thought to be the same one whacked with a fine in April after parking illegally in Edgware Road, Westminster.
A similar car with L-plates was spotted in Marylebone on May 30.
August is known as “supercar season” in London as hundreds of super-rich tourists, many from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kuwait, descend on the capital for the summer.
