A woman was knocked from her bike and injured her head in Twickenham Road.
The road was in gridlock after a woman suffered an accident by West Middlesex Hospital at about 3.20pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman from the London Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of a road traffic collision.
She said: “We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team to the scene, alongside London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a woman at the scene for a head injury and took her as a priority to a hospital in central London.”
Harry Hayden, 23, walked by the scene and saw the woman lying in the road with her bicycle.
He said: “It’s quite bad, a lot of traffic heading towards Twickenham.
“An old lady fell off her bike and I saw her lying on the ground in the middle of the road and it is causing quite a lot of traffic.
“I didn’t see one but I think the ambulance must have been on its way as she looked hurt.
“There was no car.”
@CFarnan Twickenham road someone either fallen off their bike or been hit. Laying on floor - closing one side of road so traffic is bad too
