A man has suffered “life-threatening injuries” after being hit by a car last night.

Police and ambulances were called at around 4am this morning (Wednesday, July 13) after a pedestrian was hit at the junction of Fore Street and Park Road in Edmonton.

Fore Street remains closed this morning, with commuters urged to avoid the area. Several buses were also diverted but are now on their normal routes.

The pedestrian was taken to an east London hospital, where he police say he remains with “life threatening injuries.”

No details about the man have been made available, and the driver has not been arrested after he stopped at the scene.

Police say they believe as Fore Street is a busy road there will have been witnesses and other people using the road, despite the collision happening in the early morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8543 5157.
