The pedestrian was taken to an east London hospital, where he police say he remains with “life threatening injuries.”
No details about the man have been made available, and the driver has not been arrested after he stopped at the scene.
Police say they believe as Fore Street is a busy road there will have been witnesses and other people using the road, despite the collision happening in the early morning.
