Wandsworth firefighters were out in force last night to rescue an unfortunate fox that got stuck in mud by the Thames.
Members of the public phoned for help after spotting the fox in Bell Lane Creek.
Firefighters were called to Enterprise Way - and turned up with two fire engines, two fire and rescue units, and a command unit.
Wandsworth green watch manager Ryan Osborne said: "It was a bit awkward and when we approached the fox he started to swim away.
"But he was tired and stuck. We got him out eventually - he was successfully rescued."
The fox was handed over to the Fox Watch group, Mr Osborne said.
