An adorable little lad who is on a mission to visit every single RNLI station in the UK has marked his first Kent conquest in Gravesend.

Eight-year-old Harry Mascall started his challenge nearly a year ago, while on holiday in Cornwall.

His love of lifeboats has led him across the UK, with the help of his dedicated family.

The youngster, from Wilmslow in Cheshire, met the Gravesend team on Sunday, May 29 during a half term trip.

Harry later tweeted: “Big thanks to Alan, Elis, Jason, Natalie and Karl @GravesendRNLI for a great tour #RNLIFamily”.

He is now more than halfway through his challenge. Gravesend was Harry’s 123rd RNLI station, out of 230.

The schoolboy hopes to raise £5,000 for the RNLI, whom he plans to volunteer for when he is old enough, and has already travelled to Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.

Alan Carr from the RNLI told News Shopper: “Harry just loves the RNLI and is doing this to raise funds and awareness.

“We showed him around our station and explained to him about what we do and how.

“He’s quite an inspiration and it’s nice to see someone so young who is very enthusiastic about the RNLI.”

Last summer, Harry received the prime minister’s esteemed Points of Light award in recognition of the nationwide challenge.

On average, the RNLI rescues 24 people every single day, and relies entirely on charity donations for funding.
