Voters in St Helier will be going to the polls tomorrow to elect a new councillor to replace the late Maxi Martin.

Five hopefuls have been campaigning for votes ahead of the by election for the St Helier ward seat following the death of long-serving councillor Maxi Martin last month.

The candidates are: Asif Ashraf, of the Liberal Democrats, Charles Barraball of the Green Party, Susan Edwards of the Conservatives, Richard Hilton (UKIP) and Jerome Neil for Labour.

Those eligible to vote will have been informed of their nearest polling station.

Votes will be verified and counted on Friday, with the results announced shortly after.
