The annual crowing of the Wallington May Queen took place at the weekend.
Kacey Willis, 12, received the title at the ceremony on Saturday, May 7.
The long-running tradition, which dates back to 1902, began with a procession through the town - where Kacey was accompanied by cheerleaders and the TS Puma Sea Cadets band.
Kacey, who lives in St Helier, led the troops through Manor Road and Woodcote Road.
Girls join the group at three-years-old as ‘fairies’, before graduating to ‘attendants to the May Queen’ a year later.
They then go on to become crown bearers, then banner bearers, before acting as ‘princesses’ and becoming eligible to be a May Queen at nine-years-old.
The May Queen’s duties include attending the crowning of the London-wide May Queen, and numerous festivals including a flower festival in Beddington Park.
Kacey’s mother, Lindsey Willis, 34, said: “Kacey was really excited to be crowned, and the turn out for the event was pretty good - which made it even more special.”
