Reception pupils at a Hackbridge primary school found out what it would be like to be a bus driver when one of the capital’s iconic red double-deckers pulled into their playground.
Children at Culvers House Primary School had been learning about different modes of transport and made pretend Oyster cards to help them gain entry to a role-play bus.
They enjoyed the experience so much that teachers organised for an actual bus to come to the school.
Excited children took turns at sitting at in driver’s seat and pretending to steer the wheel after it parked up in the playground.
One child said: “I liked being in the bus driver’s seat because it has lots of buttons. I love buttons and I loved the bus.”
