A Canadian artist who has designed props for West End shows is to exhibit her artwork in Carshalton Beeches.
Liz Charsley-Jory, who has worked as a chief set dresser on stage shows Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon will display her artwork that reflects a desire to escape the pace of city life and make time for the natural world.
She said: "I grew up in Canada, near vast, dense green forests that formed a backdrop to every aspect of my life there.
“A picture of a tree or forest reminds us of the fragrant movement of their branches, birdsong from their resident birds, shade from the sun, shelter from rain.”
The artist regularly exhibits her displays with the South London Women Artists, a group that holds events across south London.
The artwork will be displayed in the Corner Gallery, Carshalton Beeches, until Saturday, April 30.
The exhibition opened on Monday.
