The unexpected is the only thing you can expect at a new music night launching in Kingston this month.
The Ram Jam Club’s Sweet Thursday promises a programme of grass root gigs that emphasises the heart of jazz and improvisation.
The event will be presented by jazz star, Tim Whitehead, who will be drawing on over 30 years in the industry, to host an evening that aims to cross genre boundaries and create new ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
He will call on international London-based artists and young local talent to perform a programme mixing jazz with beatboxing, comedy and more.
Opening night will see Tim Whitehead’s Personal Standards Quartet meet the 2015 London beat box champion, ABH, aka Alex Hackett.
The event begins on April 21 at 7.30pm, with a £15 entrance fee for non-members.
