The status of a man arrested on suspicion of killing a Kingston University student through dangerous driving remains unclear a year on from her death.
Hina Shamim, 21, was killed while crossing Penrhyn Road outside the university as she went to hand in her final piece of coursework on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
A 34-year-old man was arrested soon after on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been bailed and re-bailed several times over the last year.
Today the Metropolitan Police was unable to confirm whether he had been charged.

Miss Shamim, from Peterborough, was in her final year as a sports science and nutrition student, and She was just weeks short of her 22nd birthday when she died.

Friends and family described her after she died as a “lovely person” who loved Kingston and “felt it was her home”.
