A revolutionary Chinese artist, now based in Wimbledon, has inspired a new novel which gets its launch at the town’s Polka Theatre in March.
Sylvia Vetta’s debut novel Brushstrokes in Time is a story of love and hope told around the real events in China and amongst the characters from The Stars – a radical movement of artists including Ai Weiwei and Qu LeiLei.
Qu now lives in Wimbledon and was interviewed extensively by the author.
Brushstrokes in Time is published by Claret Press and costs £7.99. A launch will be held at Polka Theatre in The Broadway from 7.15pm on Thursday, March 3.
