A nine-year-old schoolgirl’s artwork will be used on MP Sadiq Khan’s Christmas cards this year.

Artwork from Asma Kader, from Hillbrook primary School in Tooting, has been chosen by Reverend Helen Matthews of the United Reformed Church, Indrajit Patel of Tooting Town Centre Partnership and Earlsfield Ward Councillor, Rachael Stokes.

The Tooting MP and Mayoral candidate MP invites primary school children from all across his Tooting constituency to design the front of his Christmas card each year.

He said: “My Christmas card competition is always a highlight of my year, with so many local children and schools putting an enormous amount of effort in order to help me design a Christmas card that really stands out.

"I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the children and teachers from across the constituency that took part this year.

“Each of the designs that were shortlisted to appear on the card are all fantastic, showing a lot of imagination and creativity.”

Christmas card winner, Asma said: “When they announced that someone in year five had won, I definitely didn’t think it’d be me, I was shocked when Mr Khan said my name because there were lots of good artworks.

“My family and I are excited to visit Westminster soon.”
