Shotguns, imitation weapons and 13 air guns were among real and imitation firearms handed in to the Metropolitan Police during a two-week amnesty.

The campaign, which ran for two weeks and ended on Sunday, December 6, gave people the opportunity to hand in weapons anonymously and possibly avoid prosecution.

A total of 25 weapons were handed in by December 4.

Richmond - shotgun cartridges

Kingston - one air gun

Merton - one shotgun and cartridge, three air rifles and one paint ball gun

Wandsworth - one air rifle

Croydon - one air pistol, pellets, CO2 gas cylinders

Sutton - one black handgun & ammunition

Other weapons handed in to the Met include:

Enfield - one pistol, cartridge and holster

Hounslow - one shotgun

Kensington & Chelsea - shotgun cartridges

Westminster - one handgun and ammunition

Hammersmith & Fulham - one deactivated AK47 and shotgun shells

Tower Hamlets – bullets

Redbridge - two air rifles and pellets

Southwark - a quantity of ammunition

Lewisham - one handgun, two rifles and one GAT air pistol

Bromley - one handgun

Brent - one black firearm (no further details at this time)

Greenwich - blank firing ammunition and other ammunition

Bexley - three air weapons

Barnet - one shotgun
