UPDATE: 'Shocking' incident in Hampton was 'self-harm'

Another has been taken to a west London hospital with minor injuries.

One witness, Petra Sale of Asters Florist in Station Road, said the London Air Ambulance flew over her shop before landing on Hampton Village Green at about noon today.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said they were called out by the London Ambulance Service and found two people "age unknown" injured inside a home.

She said: "The air ambulance unit was called and one person was airlifted to an east London hospital.

"We await on update on their condition.

"Another person was taken to a west London hospital with minor injuries."

Officers remain on scene and enquiries continue.

Ms Sale tweeted: "Shocking scenes at Hampton Village this morning.

She added: "They loaded someone on board from Beard's Hill.

"Massive crowd gathered around.

"It was so odd seeing the air ambulance in our little village green and the traffic was backed up everywhere.

"Everyone was told to move back."

She said there were about six police officers and with about 10 paramedics present.

More to follow.
