A cannabis factory was found right under the noses of Sutton detectives today following a drugs raid opposite the police station.
Between 120 and 130 cannabis plants were found in the disused Basement Nightclub through an alleyway between Sutton Housing Partnership and GT Cars, off Carshalton Road.
Two men had barricaded themselves inside, police said.
But officers forced their way through the door and found the plants hanging from the ceiling of the former dance floor.
It is understood that the factory had been lived in recently.
The building had undergone construction work last year, but had since stopped.
The two men, believed to be in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of farming cannabis and taken about 20 yards over the road to the police station shortly after the raid at 2.20pm.
