UPDATED: A man has been taken to hospital after an apparent shooting in Thornton Heath.
Armed police and ambulance services were called to Beulah Road at 1.29pm this afternoon after reports a gunshot had been heard.
They found a man in his late 30s with a minor injury. Paramedics took him to a south London Hospital, where he remains, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.
Detectives are investigating the shooting, although no arrests have been made.
A Croydon Guardian photographer said a police cordon had been set up outside Allsorts Newsagents in Beulah Road, with forensic officers still at the scene at 5pm on Friday afternoon.
